Cure for Breast
Cancer
Hello, All: You
are the folks I care most about and think you want to know about the new stamp.
Usually I bcc, but I think it's ok to not do that on this one. If you are
perturbed to be on the list, just call me up and give me a piece of your mind,
eh? :0) guess i can manage a few more bobs and weaves. hahahha. cs
Dearest Gwen,
It was good to
see all at JJ and Charlene's beautiful re-nuptials.
It is also so
strange and funny to me how we seem to be on the same track with many things.
Last
night before giving up to sleep, I visited the USPS for more stats on the
stamp
version sent to me by a friend. Turns out that the Breast Cancer stamp was the
first of only three issued so far by the USPS called 'semipostal' fundraising stamps.
Click
the 'semipostal' link to compare the two stamps. You will see
that the new stamp is much more ethnocentric than the 1998 version still
on
the
USPS site.
Hopefully,
they
will update
soon with
a
proper
link so we can have a peek at this new version from the USPS site, too.
A lot of money has
already
been
raised
and
this new stamp will up the ante.

Breast Cancer
Stamp - It's gorgeous! And read the text below the stamp, it's worth doing.
Pass it on!
ALRIGHT
EVERYONE, lets do this!!!!!! We need those of you who are great at forwarding
information to your e-mail network. Please read and pass this on. It would be
wonderful if 2005 were the year a cure for breast cancer were found!!!!
This is one
e-mail you'll gladly passalong. The notion that we could raise $35
million by buying a book of stamps is powerful!
As you may be
aware, the US Postal Service recently released its new "Fund the
Cure" stamp to help fund breast cancer research. The stamp was designed
by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, Maryland. It is important that we take a stand
against this terrible disease affecting so many of our mothers, sisters and friends.
Instead of the
routine 37 cents for a stamp, this one cost 40 cents. The additional 3 cents
will go to breast cancer research. A "normal" book costs $7.40. This
one is only $8.00. It takes a few minutes in line at the Post Office and means
so much. If all stamps are sold, it will raise an additional $35,000,000 for
this vital research!
Just as important as the money is our support. What a statement it would make if the stamp out-sold the lottery this week. What a statement it would make that we care.
I
would urge you to do two things TODAY
1. Go out and purchase some of these
stamps.
2. E-mail your friends to do the same.
We all know women and their families whose lives are turned upside-down by
breast cancer. It takes so little to do so much in this drive. I think we can
all afford the additional 60 cents the new book costs. Please help & pass
this on!!!
One more thing...
FYI
Another
dis-ease is high up on the ethnocentric list, running along with diabetes and lupus.
According to allopaths, the debilitating polymyalgia rheumatica has no known
cause or cure...
However, some
natural
remedies (including prayer, exercise and common sense) will help with
that and some other disturbances in the way such as pains, sleep deprivation,
irritability and anxiety.
Hoping your day
is wonderful. lol.
